Chocolate Bread Pudding

 

4 cups dry French bread

4 cups milk

8 oz. bittersweet chocolate

6 eggs

1 cup sugar

1 1/2 t. vanilla

1/4 t. salt

1 cup milk

 

  • Preheat oven to 350º F

  • Tear French bread into 1" rough pieces & mix with milk in a bowl.

  • Over a double broiler, melt chocolate and set aside to keep warm.

  • In a mixing bowl put eggs, sugar, vanilla, salt, milk and mix.

  • Put all ingredients in a large bowl and fold together.

  • Place evenly in a 2-3" deep brownie pan,

  • Place in a water bath (not your tub).

  • Cook for twenty minutes.

  • Cover with tin foil and cook for another 20 minutes.

  • Remove from oven and let cool.
