Apple Crisp
Makes 8 servings

1 recipe Apple Filling (8 portions) - Below
1 recipe Oat Streusel (8 portions) - Below
3 cups Salted Caramel - Below

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Spread Salted Caramel on the bottom of a non-greased baking dish.
3. Add Apple Filling over Salted Caramel.
4. Top with Oat Streusel.
5. Bake for 30 minutes.

6. Enjoy!

Apple Flling
Makes 8 portions

9 Gala apples
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
4 T butter, softened
1/4 cup corn starch
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp Sea salt

1. Peel, core, and cut apple into large dice.
2. Mix apples with lemon juice.
3. Mix all dry ingredients together.

4. Add apples to spice mix and mix until completely coated.

5. Add butter and mix until no clumps of butter remain.

Oat Streusel
Makes 8 portions

2 cups AP flour
2/3 cups steel cut oats
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup brown sugar
2 sticks butter, melted

1. Whisk all dry ingredients in a large bowl, break up all lumps.
2. Pour melted butter into dry ingredients.

3. Mix well with your hands until completely combined.

4. Set aside, store at room temperature.

Salted Caramel
Makes 3 cups

2 cups water
2 cups sugar
2 cups heavy cream
1/2 tsp Sea salt

1. In a heavy sauce pan, bring water and sugar to a boil.
2. Use a pastry brush to brush water down the sides of the pan.

3. Use a candy thermometer to bring sugar water to 240° F, sugar will become caramel color.

4. Add cream and stir until combined completely.

5. Add Sea salt and mix until combined.
